Sharing Your Vision

Your strategic vision (unless it is a personal vision) should not be kept to yourself. The best vision is one that is shared with everyone involved, if you want it to be successful. But share everything, not just the vision statement. Let everyone know why you are doing it, what your core values are, your edict (or mission), the vision, and the game plan.

Get buy-in from those below you. Listen to their concerns and take them into consideration. If you are in upper management and you designed a vision that includes the people actually doing the work, listen to what they have to say.

They are the ones on the ground floor; they work daily on things you may have forgotten about. Talk to the sales team, get buy in from support. Find a way to make it their vision and they will work hard to accomplish it.
